H Day

This is a short look at Honda Day 2017 which took place on the 20 May 2017 at Killarney, and was one of the biggest Honda events in Cape Town. Enjoy!

Street2Strip drag racing on a the weekend at Killarney.... the safer way..... Lots of HP on this modded car..... with a 12Sec run!

The Honda Day Spring 2017 SFWD Class was super competitive. This video captures all of Sunday's elimination rounds. Saturday was qualifying and Sunday is elimination rounds. Win and move on.
Shawn Ramey came in as number 1 qualifier and raced his way through a tough field to take the event win. Rolando Blanco ran strong all event all the way into the finals where he ran a 8.3 -David Campos went 8.30 in qualifying and had a great race against Rolando in the quarter finals. Paul B ran a 8.4 first round on a borg warner! Cesar Ol came all the way from Florida to throw down and went rounds to give Shawn a great race in the semi finals. Fast Guy and Campos had a super tight race as well after an intense staging duel. Shawn leaves Hday with the SFWD win running a 8.3 and OGS SFWD class record of 8.26. Great performance by all racers. The track prep needs no mentioning with the times they were running. Good to see cars flying at etown!

REP CITY - Cape Town Stance Scene - Visiting Cape Town has opened a ton of doors, and being such a car fanatic I really enjoy coming to these events that are held here, Cape Town definitely has a bigger scene when it comes to stance cars



Day 6: Visiting Killarney Race Track to watch Cape Town drag cars take on some of the fastest in the land then headed off to check out the OTF (On the Floor) even that is an annual event that takes place down here. Enjoy!

Quentin Boylan and crew came down to Cape Town's Killarney Raceway for some friendly competition against the Pro-Fit K-addy of Bradley. Unfortunately the K-addy broke down early in the day which left Quentin to play all by himself. Quentin's best time was 10.3 of the 1/4mile. Well done! We hope to see you again soon!

It was the opening race of the 2017 ITU World Cup season and it could not have got better for the locals. Murray won in 51 minutes and 33 seconds followed by Schoeman on his heels 8 seconds later and Sullwald in 51.56.

Meet Venodh. Now meet Venodh's Honda Ballads saloon, an EK4 Civic really, aggressively reverted to its Nippon origins. People throw around the term JDM like its an easy enough ethos to achieve, but it goes beyond yellow indicators and a minimalistic OEM approach to styling. And when it comes to the Japanese way of doing things, few are as hard-core as the Kanjozoku, Osaka and Tokyo's infamous 'highway-racers'. Capetonian, Venodh Nadasen has taken inspiration from these overtly JDM delinquents in his quest to build what can almost be described as a tribute to them and their cause, a sharp-as-a-tack Civic saloon that has traded many mod-cons in favour of a raw, visceral track-ready machine. Loud of exhaust, scythe-like of steering and throttle response, make no mistake it's not for dicing, it's not for street racing on any sort, Venodh knows the value of a track like Cape Town's Killarney circuit. You'll see me there at every track day this year, just watch.

The shopping list is extensive, including a 1800 sub assembly, Type R camshafts in the VTEC cylinder head and KONI suspension components. But it isn't about the build itself, is it? And besides, watch the video already!

Day 2 of honda day 2017

Righto, first track day of 2017! Clear and sunny skies with a slight breeze and ridiculous amount of heat. Air temps on track were at times in excess of 37 degrees Celsius. None the less it was an awesome day out with the track day project guys :) Here are my first 2 sessions of the day.

The second show for Fast and furious 8 at the presige, Cavendish mall (starting at 2pm) last Sunday was cancelled due to the smoke that traveled all the way from the parking lot to the cinema.
